so i may have come off a little self-righteous in the last g n' c. some people hinted to me that i shouldn't be discouraging young artists and it's not really my place. well, i'm sorry if i seemed that way, but i live almost right across the street from a junior high school and my neighborhood is full of cruddy looking toy tags and "throw ups" that make me want to throw up. i'm really not trying to stop anyone from creating anything, i'm just saying if you're going to take the step of putting something on a public space, try to at least put a bit of thought and skill behind it. but it's really quite ridiculous even talking about it- graff is, after all, vandalism at its root, and it got its start in the early 70s with pretty much nothing but shitty tags and gross looking throw ups. i guess i'm a hypocrite in some peoples' eyes if i don't support every writer out there, but graff is a love/hate thing for me anyway, as i suspect it is for many people. i hate weak shit and i also resent it when it gets too slick. i guess i'm just an art snob, but i'm entitled to my opinion.

if you have some flix to contribute, and as long as they are not pulled from some other web site, please feel free to send them to me at azmatik@zeroboutique.com and i'll post 'em here.
